Ƙungiyar Malaman Jami’o’i ta ƙasa (ASUU) reshen Jami’ar Abuja (UniAbuja) sun janye yajin aikin su na kwanaki 82 nan take. Wannan matakin ya biyo bayan tattaunawa da sabon kwamitin gudanarwa na Jami’ar, wanda ya yi alƙawarin magance buƙatun ƙungiyar. Shugaban ƙungiyar, Dr. Sylvanus Ugoh, ya sanar da dakatar da yajin aikin bayan taron majalisar da aka gudanar a Abuja yau Litinin.
Yajin aikin ya fara ne tun a ranar 2 ga Mayu, 2024, don yin zanga-zangar nuna rashin amincewa da wasu matsaloli, ciki har da take dokokin ɗaukar ma’aikata da ƙarin girma, da kuma talla ba bisa ƙa’ida ba don neman muƙamin Shugaban Jami’ar daga gwamnatin da ta gabata.

Sai dai, sabon kwamitin ya yi alƙawarin soke wannan talla mai cike da cece-kuce kuma ya sake buga shi bisa ƙa’ida. Haka kuma sun amince su sake duba tsarin ɗaukar ma’aikata da ƙarin girma, musamman waɗanda aka yi a shekarar 2022/2023, da kuma gudanar da zaɓe don muƙaman Shugabannin Kwalejoji na jami’ar.
Dr. Ugoh ya bayyana cewa, ƙoƙarin da aka yi a baya don warware matsalolin tare da tsohon Shugaban Jami’ar ya ci tura, wanda ya sa aka shiga yajin aikin ba tare da ƙayyadadden lokacin dawo wa ba. Amma, sabbin matakan da aka samu daga sabon kwamitin suna da kyau, wanda ya sa ƙungiyar ta yanke shawarar dakatar da yajin aikin.
Kwamitin ya amince da sake duba dukkan batutuwan da suka shafi bangarorin, kuma ƙungiyar ta bayyana fatan cewa hukumar Jami’ar za ta magance matsalolin su yadda ya kamata.
